The Voodoo I Do

December 5th, 2008

While Pat and Dave have been hard at work on the car, and “MEM” (hello, MEM) on advising about the car, I’ve been working hard too…at networking.

Seemed to me that if I’m going to write this up for Spirit, I need to get the OK from the head of the Lemons group. Otherwise, things like photography would get tricky at the event. So I called head honcho Jay Lamm. Here’s a summary of our conversation, slightly edited:

BC: I want to do a story about a driving team that I’d be a part of at the Houston Lemons race for Spirit magazine.

JM: The one with 3.2 million readers?

BC: Yes.

JM: Go ahead and send in your application. But when you do, let me know. I’ll take care of it.

So I’m given to understand that I could send in an entry that says “it’s me,” and we’re in.

My work here is done.

Bravo! Now if we can just get you to apply some wrench-turning and diagnostic skills, we’ll be all set. How good are you at resurrecting Japanese engines with EFI and a certain non-running status?
